A new Quinnipaic University national poll suggests the Democrat Candidates are still in the lead in the race for the White House. The poll pitted Joe Biden and Hilary Clinton in General Election match-ups against three possible Republicans, Donald Trump, Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio. For Clinton she leads Trump by 4%, Bush by 2% and Rubio by 1%. If spread evenly nationwide this means Bush and Rubio would gain Florida but would fail to take Ohio and Virginia. In the case of Trump, he would narrowly lose Florida leading to a notional result of a Clinton victory identical to the margin Obama defeated Romney by in 2012.
For Joe Biden the news is even better. He is in a stronger position leading Trump by 8%, Bush by 6% and Rubio by 3%. In this scenario Biden’s match-up with Rubio would lead to the same electoral college result as in 2012, against Bush and Trump, Biden would also add North Carolina into the Democrat column to extend the advantage. This is another General Election poll that has Donald Trump, currently the front runner for the Republican nomination, in the worst.position to win the General Election should he become the man to challenge for the White House.
