Washout in Nelson

The fourth game between New Zealand and Sri Lanka was abandoned after heavy rain at the Saxton Oval in Nelson. Sri Lanka had New Zealand in trouble at 75-3 before the rain came and washed out the game meaning the match was drawn and New Zealand now cannot lose the series as they lead 2-1 with just one more game left.

Afghan collapse puts Zimbabwe back in the series

A disastrous batting spell from Afghanistan put Zimbabwe back in their five match series in Sharjah. The Afghans led 2-0 going in and bowled reasonably well. Only Hamilton Masakadza with 83 and Graeme Cremer with 58 put up any serious resistance as Zimbabwe were bowled out for 175. Mirwais Ashraf was the best of the Afghan bowlers with figures of 3-20.

However the Afghans had a nightmare with the bat with only Mohammad Shahzad, the hero of the last game, reaching double figures. Luke Jongwe ripped through the Afghan lower order taking five wickets as Afghanistan were bowled out for just 58, putting Zimbabwe right back in the series with a huge boost of confidence going into game 4.
