Everton v Tottenham Hotspur
Lennon goal against old club ensures a point for Everton
In game of two halves Everton and Tottenham Hotspur has to settle for a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park. Tottenham dominated the first half with Harry Kane and Ben Davies both hitting the woodwork early on. However against the run of play Everton took the lead after Romelu Lukaku headed into the path of Aaron Lennon to score against his old club.
Tottenham hit back just before half time with a superb goal as Deli Ali volleyed home a through ball from Toby Alderweireld to equalise. In contrast to the first half it was Everton who had the better of the second with Lukaku just failing to turn in a Gerard Deulofeu cross and Hugo Lloris having to make a fine save from a 25 years strike from Muhamed Besic. South Korean substitute Son Heung-Min injected some energy into Tottenham in the last 20 minutes and set up Ali who brought a fine save from Tim Howard. In the end a point a piece was probably the right result. The draw leaves Tottenham three points clear of Man United in 4th place, Everton remain 11th.
