Sor Singyu retains title after series of head clashes sees fight stopped
WBO Bantamweight Champion Pungluang Sor Singyu made his first successful defence against Jetro Pabustan of the Philippines. Sor Sigyu dominated the early rounds and was consistently the busier of the two. The styles for Sor Singyu fighting orthodox and Pabustan fighting southpaw caused a number of problems as Pabustan wanted to get in close and the clash of styles created a number of head clashes as a result.
The second of these clashes caused a cut over Pabustan’s right eye which got progressively worst with a combination of each clash, and Sor Singyu cleaner work getting through time and again. In the seventh round the referee stopped the fight deeming Pabustan in no position to continue.
The scorecards were in total agreeing with all three judges having given Sor Singyu every round 70-63 handing him a unanimous decision in an impressive and straight forward first title defence and a home victory for the Thai crowd to cheer.
