WBC Heavyweight Title In Birmingham, Alabama

Deontay Wilder survived an injured hand to defeat Chris Arreola to defend his WBC world Title in Alabama. Wilder was in control of the fight from the off scoring a knockdown in Round 4 but really punished Arreola in the seventh round with a series of power shots, The domination continued in Round 8 with Arreola’s trainer stopping the fight.

WBO Lightweight Title, WBA Super Bantamweight Title in Cardiff, Wales

Manchester’s Terry Fannagan defended his WBO Lightweight title against South African Challenger Mazonke Fana. Flanagan in an impressive display won every round against his more experienced opponent scoring knockdowns in Rounds 4 & 12 and winning 120-106 on all three scorecards.

On the same card the undefeated Guillermo Rigondeaux wasted no time in defeating his challenger from Liverpool James Dickens. The Cuban landed a series of power shots forcing Dickens to withdraw in Round 2 with a broken jaw. The Cuban moves to 17-0 retaining his WBA Super Bantamweight title.
