Moon Of Liberty Tennis – WTA Tour

WTA Tour

World number 5 Simona Halep won on home soil for the second time thrashing Anastasija Sevastova 6-0 6-0. Halep was too powerful for her opponent who added to her win earlier in the season in Madrid winning 12 consecutive games and never giving her Latvian opponent a sniff throughout.

There was a much tighter final in Gstaad in which Victorija Golubic scored an upset win coming from a set down to beat Holland’s Kiki Bertens. Golubic went into the tournament unseeded and will enter the world’s top 100 after breaking Bertens once in the second and third set to claim her maiden WTA Tour title.
