Moon of Liberty Darts – PDC World Matchplay

World Matchplay

World number 1 Michael Van Gerwin kept up his imperious form to defeat Phil Taylor 18-10 to win the World Matchplay in Blackpool. Taylor had looked something like his old self with a comfortable semi-final win over Gary Anderson but could not find the magic as Van Gerwin got a break of throw early on and never looked back. Taylor got a break back to get back to 13-8 but Van Gerwin stepped it up again to take five of the next seven legs to retain the title he won against James Wade last year.
