Moon of Liberty Soccer – Scottish League Cup


Queen Of The South have opened their campaign in the Scottish League Cup with two wins and one defeat in their Scottish League Cup group. Goals from Jake Pickard and Andy Dowie gave them a 2-0 win over Queens Park at the Excelsior Stadium. In the midweek game Derek Lyle produced an superb performance to grab the two goals in another 2-0 win against Airdrieonians.

Queens fell to their first defeat on Saturday against Partick Thistle.Dale Hilson had given Queens a first half lead but Partick fought back with goals from Chris Erskine and a last minute winner from Steven Lawless. Queens need to beat Stenhousemuir in their final game to have a chance of qualifying for the next round.
