World Open in China –

Ali Carter who has battled back to form after coming back from recovering after a fight against lung cancer, has won his first ranking event since 2013 beating Joe Perry in the World Open final in Yushan. Perry took an early 3-2 lead but Carter went on a incredible run winning six frame sin a row to take an 8-3 lead. Perry clawed it back to 9-6 but Carter had a golden chance to seal it in the 16th frame, missing the last red and letting Perry in to make it 9-7. Perry then took the next however Carter finished the contest in the 18th frame and did so in style with a break of 127. The win is Carter’s seventh in his career.
