3rd Test Match – England v Pakistan
England turned around the third test at Edgbaston to take a 2-1 lead over Pakistan. Sohail Khan took five wickets to restrict England to 297 and 139 from Azhar Ali helped Pakistan put 400 on the board to take a commanding lead. Moeen Ali lead the fightback with 86 in a second innings in which five players hit half centuries as England scored 445 before declaring to put themselves right back in the match. The match was effectively sealed when Pakistan lost four wickets for just one run, including Steven Finn taking the key wicket of Sami Aslam whose 70 had threatened to put Pakistan in with a shout. This collapase was the end as England went on to clear up the tail for a 141 run win. England now cannot lose the series 2-1 up with one to play.
