Sydney Masters – The Power is back on down under
Phil Taylor extended his unbeaten run in Australia to 24 games as he retained the Sydney Darts Masters for the fourth year in a row in what this year was, a rare victory of World number 1 Michael Van Gerwin. Mighty Mike opened with an 11 darter but Taylor won three legs in a row to open a 4-2 lead. the game ebbed and flowed until Taylor surged to take three more legs in a row at a critical stage to establish a 10-7 advantage needing only one more. Van Gerwin broke once to get back to 10-9 but could not break a second time with Taylor sealing the match with double 16. The next big tournament is in Perth, could the power be using time away from Europe to find some top form heading into the latter part of the season and towards the World Championship?
