Rugby Championship – Round 2

New Zealand retained the Bledisloe Cup by scoring a straight forward double against Australia in Wellington. While Australia were more competitive than in the first game New Zealand still dominated restricting the Wallabies to three penalties. Tries from Sam Kane, Julia Savea and two from Israel Dagg saw New Zealand run out 29-9 winners.

Argentina scored an historic victory over South Africa in Salta taking the Springboks scalp on home soil for the first time. Joaquin Taculet and Juan Manuel Laguizamon tries kept Argentina n the game. Morne Stein’s penalty had looked to give South Africa the win taking the lead 24-23 with five minutes left, however Argentina got a penalty with just three minutes to go which Santiago Gonzales Iglesias held his nerve to put the ball between the posts and seal the Pumas first win of this seasons Championship.
