Perth Darts Masters
Michael Van Gerwin broke his duck on Australian soil after a comfortable 11-5 win over Dave Chisnall in the Perth Darts Masters. Van Gerwin had beaten Peter Wright comfortably in the semi-final while Chisnall averaged 104 in beating Ray Van Berneveld. Van Gerwin started fast taking five legs in a row to take a 5-1 lead. Chisnall broke to get back to 5-3 but from that point Mighty Mike moved away. Van Gerwin took the next three including hitting an 11 dart leg to make it 8-3. From that point there was no coming back, Chisnall could only take one more leg before Ven Gerwin hit the 11 legs required to win. Chisnall is still waiting for his first televised ranking title. For Van Gerwin, it breaks the Aussie hoodoo after his defeat against Phil Taylor last week in Sydney and moves him ahead of Gary Anderson in terms of number one seeding for the next group of events.
