Premier League – Man Utd v Liverpool

Score draw a fair result in East Lancs Derby

A draw was a fair but frustrating result for both sides as Liverpool earned a point at Manchester United. Liverpool had a first half lead through a James Milner penalty after Paul Pogba had handled in the area from a corner. Roberto Firmino and Georginio Wijnaldum has chances to make it two as Liverpool were dangerous on the counter attack. However Manchester United kept pressing forward and got their reward when Zlatan Ibrahimovic headed home in the midst of a goalmouth scramble to equalise. A point a piece means Liverpool are seven points behind Chelsea in third and Manchester United are 12 points behind. It makes Liverpool’s match with Chelsea at Anfield at the end of the month even more a must win if they want to stay in the title race.
