UK Masters Final – Van Gerwin v Anderson

Mighty Mike marches on to win third straight Masters title

Newly crowned World Champion Michael Van Gerwin has added the UK Masters again to his collection. In a rematch of the World final he again got the better of Scotsman Gary Anderson in Milton Keynes. Van Gerwin set the tone from the off with a 177 and broke straight away to take the first two legs. Anderson kept in touch at 6-4 but Van Gerwin then broke again taking three of the next five legs to take a 9-6 lead. The next two were shared to put Van Gerwin one away. In the 18th leg Anderson had chances but missed doubles allowing the Dutchman to finish it off with a 121 finish averaging a huge 109. On this form it will be a long year for Van Gerwin’s opponents.
