African Nations Cup Final – Cameroon v Egypt

Second half comeback secures Cameroon fifth title

Cameroon had to come from behind to win the African Nations Cup against Egypt in Libreville. Egypt took a half time lead through Mohammad Eleney’s near post strike. Cameroon began to gain control in the second half and drew level as Nicolas N’Koulou rose highest to head home the equaliser. With extra time looming Cameroon got the winner with two minutes left. Vincent Aboubakar flicked the ball beyond defender Al Gabr and thumped the ball home to see the cup head back to Cameroon for the fifth time. This was the third final meeting between the two, Egypt had previously won both but it was not to be this time with Cameroon securing their first win since 2002.
